About

The Yorkshire Post NHS Health and Social Care Hero of the Year Award 2010 celebrates the exceptional and vital work done everyday by people in frontline NHS and social services, and the voluntary, charity and independent sectors.

This annual award highlights the people working in health and social care in our region who have gone above and beyond to provide outstanding service.

Nominations come in from members of the public in response to appeals in the Yorkshire Post and NHS Yorkshire and the Humber.

Once the nominations have closed, five shortlisted people will appear in the Yorkshire Post and members of the public will be able to vote for their winning ‘Hero’.

The winner will be announced at the regional Health and Social Care Awards ceremony taking place in October 2010. Following the ceremony, you will be able to read all about the 2010 Hero in the Yorkshire Post.
